Rave Runners is made by A.vontura, Rotterdam. The app collects no personal data.
What the app does not do
Rave Runners has no accounts, no sign-in and no registration. It sends no data to us, and it contains no analytics or advertising services. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.
What stays on your phone
Your music, your training plans and your past runs are stored on your own device only. Delete the app and they go with it.
Location
During a solo run and in Song Mode the app uses GPS to measure how far you run. That distance drives the kilometre call-out, moves Song Mode to the next song every kilometre and appears in your run summary. Tracking only runs while a run is active, also when your screen is off, and stops when you end the run. Only the distance is kept: the app stores no route or coordinates, and your location is never sent to us.
For a group session, the organiser can require that runners are at the agreed location. In that case your location is checked once, at the moment you join. It stays within the session, and it is never stored or sent to us.
Photos
When you tap Save to Photos, the app adds your run poster to your photo library. It can only add that image and cannot see your other photos.
Microphone
The app can listen briefly when you ask it to measure your own running rhythm. That audio is processed on your device to work out the tempo, and is never stored or transmitted.
Group sessions
During a group run your phone connects to the organiser's phone or laptop over your own network or hotspot. Only the name you type in yourself and technical timing data are exchanged, so that every phone can start on the same beat. That data disappears when the session ends.
Music
You use your own music files. In a group session the organiser shares the mix with the runners over the local network, so everyone hears the same track. The app offers no music catalogue and downloads no music from the internet.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects data from nobody, children included.
